SCILLING, SCILLINN—VIII—Skilling, Skillen; 'son of Scilling' (a Norse personal name, the same as the English 'shilling'; compare with Feóirling). Mac Scelling was the name of a naval commander from the Hebrides, mentioned by the Four Masters at the year 1154.
