Ó SEARRAIGH—I—O Sharie, Sharry, Sherry; 'descendant of Searrach' (a foal, hence flighty); the name of an Ulster family who, according to MacFirbis, are of the race of Eoghan, son of Niall of the Nine Hostages; also of a family the head of which was anciently chief of Dal mBuinne, in the present Co. Antrim; still well represented in Ulster and in some of the adjoining counties of Leinster.
