Ó Dubhrosa

Ó DUBHROSA, Ó DUBHRUIS—IO Durise, Dooris, Doorish, Doris; 'descendant of Dubhros' (black Ros); formerly the name of a family in the neighbourhood of Bruff in Co. Limerick, but it has long since disappeared from that part of the country. It occurs in Fermanagh early in the 17th century. I find the modern forms in Longford and Mayo.
