Ó CUINEÁIN—I—O Kinane, O Kynnan, Cunnane, Kinane, Kinnane, Guinane, Guinnane, Guinan, Quinane, Quenan, Queenane, &c.; 'descendant of Cuineán' (an attenuated form of Conán); a variant of Ó Coineáin, which see; a common surname in many parts of Ireland. There is also a distinct surname Ó Cuinneáin, which see.
