MÁLÓID—VIII—Malode, Mallot, Mellot, Mylott, Mylotte; probably a corruption of Míolóid, which see; at least, it has the same anglicised forms. Malet was, however, an early Anglo-Norman surname in Ireland, and Malot, the corresponding diminutive in -ot, might also have existed.
