Mac Conghamhna
Mac CONGHAMHNA—IV—M'Kengawny, M'Engawney, M'Negowny, (Gaffney, Caulfield); 'son of Cú-ghamhna' (calf-hound); the name of a branch of the Ui Fiachrach Aidhne, in the south of Co. Galway. It is still common in Longford and all the adjoining counties, also in Cork and Mayo, but now always disguised under the anglicised forms of Gaffney and Caulfield.
