Mac CONBOIRNE—IV—M'Conborney, Burns; 'son of Cú-Boirne' (hound of Boirean, a place-name); the name of a family of the Ui Fiachrach race, in Co. Mayo. O'Donovan found it still extant under the anglicised form of Burns. It was also written Ó Conboirne.
