Mac COIMÍN—IVM'Comin, M'Comyn, MacComming, MacKimmon, Comyn, Comyns, Commons, Kimmins, etc.; 'son of Coimín' (diminutive of cam, bent). This surname was common in parts of Munster, and in Wexford, Monaghan and Cavan. Its anglicised forms cannot always be distinguished from those of Ó Coimin, Ó Comáin, nor from the Anglo-Norman Comyn.
