Mac an TAOISIGH—VII—Macintosh, MacEntosh, MacKintosh; 'son of the chieftain' (Irish 'taoiseach'); the name of a famous Highland clan in Inverness, some of whom settled in the north of Ireland. The Scottish Gaelic form of the name is Mac an Tóisich.
