de LONDÚN—XIde Lundun, de Lundon, de London, Lundon, London, Landon; a variant of de Londras, de Londra, which see. John de Lundon and Richard de Lundun are mentioned in the Dublin Roll of Names, A.D. 1216. William de London was witness to a grant of land by the dean and chapter of Limerick early in the 13th century, from which period onward the name appears to have been peculiar to the counties of Limerick and Waterford.
