de LIATH—XIde Lee, Doleo, Lea, Leo; of same origin as de Léigh above; the name of an old Anglo-Irish family in East Limerick. In 1600, the castle and lands of Rathmore were held by James oge Leo, and about the same time Leo of Tullavin was one of the chief gentlemen of the county. The name is still well-known in the neighbourhood of Kilmallock.
