de HÓR, de HÓRA—XIIHorie, Hore, Hoar, Hoare; Norman 'le hore,' i.e., the hoary, greyish-white, no doubt from the colour of the hair; the name of an Anglo-Norman family who came to Ireland at the time of the invasion and settled in Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow, Waterford, Cork, Kerry, etc. The Hores of Wexford were a distinguished and influential family.
