Chapter VI

The Counties of Tyrone and Fermanagh are coupled in the sayings:—

“Tyrone among the bushes,

Fermanagh among the rushes.”

Another droll saying regarding Tyrone is:—

“Sweet Tyrone you’re far from home,

With barley on your broth.”
