Ó TALCHARÁIN—I—Tolleran; 'descendant of Talcharán' (diminutive of Talchar); the name of a Mayo family who were anciently chiefs of Conmaicne Cuile, now the barony of Kilmaine. O'Donovan found a few families of the name still in the barony.
