Ó RUAIDH—I—O Rowe, O Rewe, Rowe, Roe, (Ormond); 'descendant of Ruadh' (red); an old surname on the confines of Cork and Waterford; now anglicised Ormond in the latter county, owing to its similarity in sound to Urmhumha, the Irish name of Ormond, or East Munster.
