Ó Náthan
Ó NÁTHAN—II—O Nahane, O Nahan, O Nane, Nawn; 'descendant of Nathan'; also written Ó Náan; the name of an old ecclesiastical family in Tirconnell. Tomás Ó Náan was Bishop of Raphoe from 1299 to 1306; and the Four Masters, under the year 1336, record the death of Trionóit Ó Náan, chief ollave of many sciences, and of civil and canon law. Some of the family at a later period removed to Cork. The name is still extant, but exceedingly rare.
