Ó MURTHUILE—I—O Murhilly, O Morhelly, O Murrilly, O Murley, Murhilla, Murley, Morrolly, Morley, (Hurley); 'descendant of Murthuile' (sea-tide); probably the same as Ó Murghaile, which see; a very common surname in Co. Cork where, however, it is now generally disguised under the anglicised form of Hurley.
