Ó MAOILBHREANAINN, Ó MAOILBHRÉANAINN—IO Mulrenan, O Mulreanan, O'Mulrennin, Mulrenan, Mulrenin, Mulrennan, Mulrennin, Mulreany, Renan; 'descendant of Maolbhreanainn' (servant of St. Brendan); the name (1) of a family of Siol Muireadhaigh who were chiefs of Clann Choncobhair, or Clan Connor, in the present Co. Roscommon, and were seated in the parish of Baslick, near Ballintobber; and (2) of a family of Ui Eachach Muaidhe in Tirawley, Co. Mayo. It has in some places been corrupted to Ó Maoilbhreanaill and Ó Maoilbhréana.
