Ó hÉIMHEACHÁIN—I—Hevaghan; 'descendant of Éimheachán' (diminutive of Éimheach, swift); the name (1) of a family of Ui Fiachrach in Co. Mayo; and (2) of a family of Cinel Fhiachach, in Co. Westmeath. It is now extremely rare, having been, most probably, changed to Ó hÉimhigh, which see.
