Ó GUSÁIN—I—Gossan, Gosson, Gasson, Gaussen; 'descendant of Gusán' (strength, force, action, anger); the name, according to MacFirbis, of a family of Sil-Murry, in Connacht. The death of Ruaidhrí Ua Gusáin is recorded in the Annals of the Four Masters at the year 992.
