Ó GORMÓG—I—O Gormoge, (Gorman); 'descendant of Gormóg' (diminutive of gorm, blue); the name of a Mayo family who were anciently lords of the barony of Carra. O'Donovan found it still extant in that district, but anglicised Gorman. It appears to have been an alias for Ó Gormghail, which see.
