Ó Goidín

Rev Patrick Woulfe
1923

Ó GOIDÍN—I—Godwin, Goodwin; 'descendant of Goidín' (diminutive of god, stammerer). This surname, which appears to be a variant of Ó Godáin (which see), is still in use in parts of Co. Mayo, anglicised Godwin and Goodwin.
