Ó FUADA—IO Foodie, O Foedy, O'Foody, Foody, Foudy, Foddy, Swift, Speed; 'descendant of Fuada,' or 'Uada'; also written Ó hUada, which see; the name of a family of the Ui Fiachrach, formerly seated in the barony of Carra, Co. Mayo, but long dispersed. Swift and Speed are supposed translations.
