Ó FEARCHAIR—I—O Farragher, Farragher, Faragher, Farraher, Faraher, Fraher; 'descendant of Fearchar' (very dear); a Connacht surname. In Munster, where there are a few of the name, it is metathesised to Ó Freachair, anglicised Fraher; while the aspiration of the initial f gives rise to the further variants Ó hEarchair and Ó Reachair, which see.
