Ó CONNACHTAIGH—I—O Connaghty, Connaghty, Conaghty, Conaty, Conotty; 'descendant of Connachtach' (Connacht-man); the name of an old Breifney family, still well represented in Cavan. Flann Ó Connachtaigh was Bishop of Kilmore in the early part of the 13th century.
