Ó BOLGUIDHIR—I—O Bolgier, O Bolger, O Bulger, Bolger, Bulger, Boulger; 'descendant of Bolgodhar,' (i.e., bolg-odhar, perhaps a nickname). The O'Bolgers were the great medical family of South Leinster. The name is still common in Wexford.
