Mag CINEÁIT—IV—M'Gennay, MacKenna, Gennagh, Ginnaw, Ginna, Guinna, Kennagh, Gna, &c, (Ginnane). This well-known Munster surname is, undoubtedly, a corruption of Mac Cionaoith, which see. It is popularly anglicised Ginnaw, but in official documents MacKenna. Ginnane is the anglicised form in parts of Clare.
