Mac TOIMILÍN, Mac THOIMILÍN—V—M'Tomilin, M'Tomylin, Tomlinson, Tomlin, Tomlyn, Timlin, Timblin, &c.; 'son of Tomlin' (a double diminutive of Thomas); the name of a Welsh or Anglo-Norman family long settled in Co. Mayo; pronounced locally Ó Cuimlín and Ó Tuimlín, and incorrectly anglicised Timlin and Timblin.
