Mac SLEIMHNE—V—M'Sleyny, MacSliney, Sleyne, Sliney, Sliny; 'son of Stephen' (?); the name taken, according to O'Donovan, by the FitzStephens of Cork. A member of this family, Dr. John Baptist Sleyne, was Bishop of Cork and Cloyne from 1693 to 1712.
