Mac MHADÓC, Mac MHADÓG—VM'Vadocke, M'Vadog, M'Vadick, M'Vadige, Vaddock, Wadock, Waddock, Wadick, Waddick, Weadock, Weadick, Weddick, Maddox; 'son of Madoc,' or 'Madog' (a Welsh personal name); the name of an old Wexford family, said to be descended from Murchadh na nGaedheal, the brother of Diarmaid Mac Murrough; usually anglicised Maddox.
