Mac GIOLLA PHÓIL—IV—M'Gillaphoill, M'Gillfoile, M'Killphoill, MacGilfoyle, Gilfoyle, Guilfoyle, Kilfoyle, (Powell); 'son of Giolla Phóil' (servant of St. Paul); the name of an ancient family in Ely O'Carroll, who were chiefs of Clann Choinlegan, near Shinrone, in Offaly.
