Calliry, Collery, (Cleary, Clarke); 'son of Giolla arraith' (probably for Giolla an raith, the prosperous youth); the name of an old Sligo family, the head of which was sometimes chief of the barony of Leyny; probably of the same stock as the O'Haras. A branch of the family settled with the O'Haras in Co. Antrim, sometime before the end of the 16th century. The name is now often incorrectly anglicised Cleary and Clarke.
