Mac FHEÓRAIS, Mac FHEÓRUIS—V—M'Orish, M'Horishe, M'Keorish, M'Corishe, M'Keoris, Korish, Corish, [Birmingham, Bermingham, &c]; 'son of Piers' (a Norman form of Peter); the Irish name assumed by Anglo-Irish family of Bermingham, who are descended from an ancestor called Piers or Peter de Bermingham. See Mac Phiarais, Mac Fhiarais and Mag Fheórais, which are variants of the present surname.
