Mac CONUISCE—IVM'Enuske, Uiske, Waters; 'son of Cú-uisce' (the water-hound); a Monaghan surname; now also in use in Co. Mayo. It is popularly supposed to be 'Mac an Uisce,' son of the water, and is in consequence generally 'translated' Waters.
