HACAED, HAICÉID—VIIIHackede, Haket, Hackett; 'son of Haket' (a Norman personal name). The Hacketts came into Ireland at the time of the Anglo-Norman invasion and settled in Dublin, Wicklow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, etc. The name occurs frequently in early Anglo-Irish records.
