GOTHMONN—VIII—Godmund, Gudmund, Godman, Goodman; 'son of Godmund,' a Teutonic personal name, not uncommon among the Anglo-Saxons; also written Guthmund. Godman was also a personal name among the Anglo-Saxons, but in early Anglo-Irish records Godmund is the only form found.
