GÓISLÍN—VIII—Gosselin, Goslin, Gauslin, Gosling, Gostlin; 'son of Goscelin' (diminutive of Goshelm, a Norman personal name, frequent in Domesday Book). Goslingstown in Co. Kilkenny commemorates the place of abode of the family in Ireland.
