Friseal
FRISEAL—XII—Fresell, Frisell, Frizell, Frizzle, Fraser, Frazer, etc.; Norman 'Frisel,' i.e., the Frisian, native of, or belonging to, Friesland. Simon Fressell came to England with William the Conqueror, and Richard Fresle was one of the tenants-in-chief at the time of the Domesday survey. The name came into Ireland about the time of the invasion. 'Vdardus Fresel' appears in the Dublin Roll of Names, A.D. 1216. Freiselston in Co. Meath was, no doubt, an early home of the family in Ireland. The Frasers were also a distinguished Scottish clan.
