de PRIONNBHÍOL—XI—de Prendeville, Prendeville, Prindeville, Prendible, Prenderville, Pendiville, etc., and incorrectly Bransfield; Norman 'de Frendeville,' i.e., of Frendeville, some spot, no doubt, in Normandy; the name of an old Kerry family. Thomas de Frendeville was sheriff of Kerry in 1235. In Co. Cork the name has been strangely changed to Bransfield.
