de CINIPHÉIC—XI—de Kenefec, de Kenefeg, Kynnepeke, Kennifeck, Kennefick, etc.; Norman 'de Kenefeg,' i.e., of Kenfig, a parish and ancient town in Glamorganshire. This surname occurs very frequently in the Dublin Roll of Names (A.D. 1216). The family finally settled in Co. Cork where the name, though rare, is still well known.
