CREADÓC, CREADÓG—VIIICradok, Craddok, Craddock; 'son of Caradoc,' (a Welsh personal name, famous in British history as Caractacus); not from the place-name Cradoc in Brecnockshire, or Craddock in Devonshire, as in old records it never takes the prefix 'de.' The Craddocks, who are a family of Welsh origin, settled at an early period at Craddockstown in Co. Kildare, whence the name has spread to other parts of Ireland. The Irish form is possibly more correctly Cradóc.
