John, the third son of Shane Bán, who is No. 23 on the “Joyce” (No. 1) pedigree, married Mary, daughter of Patrick Gibbons, of Roonith, near Louisborough, county Mayo, and had seven surviving sons and four daughters, all, save one daughter, living in 1888. The sons were:

1. John-Charles, of 405 Broadway, New York, married.
2. Peter-Joseph, of whom presently.
3. Tobias-Bernard.
4. Thomas-Walter.
5. Patrick-Francis.
6. Edward.
7. James.

The daughters were:

1. Sarah.
2. Mary-Anne (dead).
3. Jane.
4. Catharine.
