Ulf

Rev Patrick Woulfe
1923

ULF—VIIIUlfe, Wulf, Woulfe, Wolfe; 'son of Ulf,' or 'Wolf' (a common personal name among all the Teutonic races). As a surname, it came into Ireland about the time of the Anglo-Norman invasion, and as such is found in the early Dublin rolls; but it cannot now be distinguished from de Bhulbh (which see), which was the form in use in Kildare and Limerick.
